These are the tools I use, I also search some information on internet. In addition, I'm learn some video that teach how to make a lamp. I have prepared a welding gun, adhesive tape, tin, switch, batters, Led SMD.

Ideas3 Make of Final Model

I'm cut a small hole on beside of the model, then
I use a knife to make the hole bigger, until the hole enough to put the switch in the model.

After that, I put the LED SMD inside around a circle, I feel that not enough bright, so I added a circle of the LED SMD.

I put the battery welding together. Then, I was test the brightness of the LED SMD.

因为我这款LED SMD的亮度，我是用两颗12V的电池，我担心电池的电量，和不能去support 到LED SMD。

I face to a problem, that is how to hide the battery and wires. In the case of pervious to light, can't see the shadow of the battery and wires.

26 May 2013 Final Model

Today, I tried to put the Led lighting in my work.  I'm going to use two different kinds of Led lighting in my three different designs. I'm face to a problem, that is how to conceal Led lighting and wiring plug.

I think that my first Ideas may not be able to use, it's because the shape is too thin and there is no this technology.

I have added a recess on back of the model, it can put the light on the inside.

Finally, I make a lighting of ipad size, it's because the acrylic will appear white light, the effect is very beautiful.

There are two kinds of Acrylic material, one kind is opaque white Acrylic, one kind is translucence white Acrylic.
I chose a translucence white Acrylice .
On the side of the edge, I had chose "Do not light transmission" black Acrylic.

Finally, I made three appearance of lamp, these are three different light effect, but I made a series of products.

I am satisfied with all three lights, it's because the effect and texture with I had designed the gap is very small.

25 May 2013 Final Model(Lighting）

Early in the morning, I began to seek to use LED lights in my final lamp.
First, I went to many shops of selling light  and LED. I can't find LED lights that I want to use. Besides, most of the shops are minimum to sell 5 meters LED lights. After recommendation of a friend, I went to a car accessories shop. Then, my friend taught me how to get to the light, mini light with the switch and the battery welding.

 

I can only buy the LED SMD, I bought two colors. These colors are white lamp and blue lamp.

Below this kind of lamp are frequently used in the manufacture signboard, it's because the cost is cheaper and long service life.

 

24 May 2013 Final Model

Today, I went back to Malaysia, I'm going to finish my final lighting in Malaysia.
I began to look for materials that use in my final lamp.I went to many hardware store to look for aluminium sheet.


I met a lot of problems. Such as how to cut the shape that I want.
I also asked some professional opinions, they said that if I want the lamp convenient to carry, aluminium sheet is easy to heat.

If long time to open the lamp to illuminate, aluminium sheet will be hot. In addition, the surface is easy to scraches. These problems are I didn't think and didn't find.

If I want to solve the above problems, unless I find to large factories, use aluminium sheet  of processed frosted. Then, I can make the shape and effect that I want.

After, I went to advertising company that I'm work before.This company is the specialized to manufacture large signboard. (Marrybrown fast food company's signboard are produced by this advertising company in Malaysia) I remember that material of signboard is Acrylic. After heating the Acrylic, designers can  change shape casually. This studio has many sign boards materials of different kinds . I can use these instruments to cut acrylic shape.

 In order to let my friend knows more about I want to use the material and made the effect. I brought my sketch and final 3D soft mockup to advertising company.

After that, I chose different types and colors of acrylic sheet that I want to use. Then, my friend help me to prepare instrument which can cut acrylic's shape .

 Main function of this instrument is to cut the shape. Appearance is like a sewing machine, but this is the blade of the sewing machine.

The following photos is I just began to learn cutting Acrylic sheet. Instrument is difficult to control, I have cut the Acrylic out of control. Thus, the acrylic shapes were wrong.

My friend think my performance is too bad, so he demonstrated personally how to control the instrument to cut the acrylic sheet.

When cutting acrylic, the shape will appear some irregular.
After cutting, acrylic need to through steps of grinding edge flat  .

Then, I started to cut the transparent acrylic sheet.

Then, I have labeled a grind arenaceous transparent sticker on the acrylic.
The light projected on the translucent things, light will come out.

Then, I spent an afternoon in the studio, I think a lot of designs.
In addition, I have add some designs and some features. I'm face to a problem, that is how to put led lights in my design. It's because the dimension of my design is very thin, so it is difficult to hide LED lights.

When I measure size, it appear some deviation, Thus, my friend use cutting machine to embellish shape.

Then, the whole model was came out.

Today, I learned a lot of knowledge of making lamp. Although I'm very tired, but I feel a sense of accomplishment. From the beginning, I was very worried about how to find better materials and texture .

Finally, I made the model. In addition, I learned a lot of machine's usage, these machines are I never seen before.
